Vacation

Summer is finally here and I'm on vacation. A few instagram glimpses of my summer so far. Hopefully I will have time to work a bit in my studio too. So far I'ts just been a lot of relaxing, long walks with the dogs and running.

Summer holiday started. Almost three weeks without any plans. Awesome!

Yesterday I checked how our potatoes have been growing. Really good it seems!

Spring have been keeping me busy. We started renovating our bathroom in March. So much work although we're not doing it ourselves. Within a few days we will be able to use our new sauna so that is an awesome feeling! Preparing the garden for spring, doing garden work, training with the dogs, working on new items, work etc. I've started using instagram lately, you can find me here: http://instagram.com/sofiasobeide

Missing you

I have been planning to get back to blogging again for SO long. So much have happened. Many big changes in my life during the last year.

Graduating
Getting married
Starting a full time job as a teacher
A house of our own
A third furry family member

Can it even happen any more things in one year?

Now life is calmer and I have started to miss blogging.
I think I'm back.

Friday likes: gardening

Almost all snow is now finally gone! And today all my plants moved to bigger pots. As in the first pic I made my pots from news paper. Easy, fast and cheap.

Last spring we moved to our house. I was so happy to finally have a garden. Last gardening season was my first and well it wasn't a big success really... This year will be better. And hopefully the summer will be warmer too. Anyways here is some inspiration!

Kitchen update!

Just added these two my Etsy shop. Both are crocheted in eco cotton. Trying to get rid of scrap yarn.

I'd love to buy new chunky yarn to work with for winter season but really I have so much yarn that I need to work with what I have. Kind of challenging but fun in that way that there will only be one available of most items.

Inspiration: wood pallets

Love the idea of using wood pallets for home decor and furniture. Pretty and rustic. When I have a bigger home I hope to be able to do some of these projects for my hope. Get inspired!

My weekend

 We have had awesome spring weather here this weekend! Spring is absolutely my favorite season. I'm so happy that we got to move to this house before spring started. This weekend have been filled with sun and fresh air. We have a lot of wood anemones in our garden so I even brought spring inside.

 I found a bunch of poor abandoned narcissus's in the forest. I thought they deserved a better place so I moved them to our garden. The little ladybug is also something found here in the garden. Thought that was a great place for a ladybug.

 Sunday morning was chilly so I needed to light a fire. Always nice to hear the sound of the fire in the mornings...

This is the project that I have been working on during the weekend. Playing around with pretty pastel cotton yarns, mixing and matching.   

And of course I was for long walks in the sun with the doggies. No pics from that unfortunately. Impossible to bring the camera while walking two excited dogs.

My studio /loft

I promised to show you photos from my loft where I have my little studio or at least store all my stuff. Most of my crocheting I do in front of the tv though... It is a small and low loft but cozy. When we moved here three years ago I only had a couple of small boxes with yarn. It is no natural light up there so kind of hard to get any good pics.I try to organize my yarn by color. Not practical really but so pretty!

My tiny drawer. Started painting it white but never got around finishing it...I have boxes filled with yarn under the table and under the shelves.
From my loft I have great view over our apartment. We have huge windows so when we moved I had to sew a curtain my self. It is marimekko's kaivo fabric.
We have also made this ourselves. Well my dad, my fiancé and I. My dad made the wooden frame, I bought the fabric and my fiancé attached it.
