I'm back

kind of at least. I've been working like crazy for a craft fair. Didn't even have time to announce it here. Anyhow I participated in a craft fair "Design Myyjäiset" in Turku. I didn't really know what to expect because it was my first big fair. There was a lot of people but it started raining when it was three hours left. It was fun but not a huge success because the fee was much much higher than I'm used to at the smaller fairs. It was fun and it is always nice to meet customers face to face. Unfortunately I left my camera at home so no pictures. I have a lot of things to add to my shops now and to blog about.

I've been knitting cowls and snoods. Here is a new long design. Love the pictures if I may say so myself. My fiancé is the photographer though.

Enjoying summer

So I'm enjoying summer. Not blogging much. But really why sit in front of the computer when you can be outside picking berries, walking in the forest or just relaxing in the sun with a cup of coffee! Well I'm also preparing for a craft fair, more info to follow later. It's in July and I'm crazy busy preparing for that one!

We have a lot of wild strawberries in our garden. They are really the best while eaten fresh and warmed by the sun. We have so much though so I've even saved some for the winter.

Inspiration: wood pallets

Love the idea of using wood pallets for home decor and furniture. Pretty and rustic. When I have a bigger home I hope to be able to do some of these projects for my hope. Get inspired!

Price tags

I'd love to order printed tags since that would look a bit more professional. They are expensive and I usually have a hard time deciding on what I want. Since I'm running a handmade business handmade tags are also appropriate. So this is what I came up with.

1. Wrote text on word.
2. Printed that out (multiple tags per page).
3. Cut out each tag with a border enough to sew around.
4. Grab some thicker cardboard.
5. Sew on the tags to the cardboard (no glue needed!). You can experiment here. Sew zig zag or straight, all the way around or  just two sides... Remember to use a old needle and don't use that one for sewing in fabric. And also I use my old sewing machine for sewing on paper. Don't dare to use by new one for that!

Happy birthday Assa!

Today is Assa's first birthday! Time flies. It feels like it was yesterday that we got her. She is still a wild and crazy puppy though.

8 weeks old at the beach. Swimming for the first time in her life.

Now.

She is a Portuguese waterdog by the way. We´ll see if she likes swimming this summer.

Like candy

Love these vintage candy-like cabochons! Made earrings from the colors I had two of and I had to make big candy rings of the ones that I have left. Since they are vintage I only have these left.

Soon available in my shop.

Neon fever

Neon is so in this summer, whether you like it or not. I'm really not sure that I like it. But yeah of course I'm a slave of trends and had to buy a couple of bottles of neon paint. This is the result.

I actually like it this way. Neon details are bright and fun! I would never wear a neon top or dress but details are actually kind of pretty.

Testing my sewing machine

Well these guys are pretty much hand sewn but some parts are sewn on machine. And I still love it!
These guys are Ophelia and Od. Made from scrap fabrics found at flea markets and actually a pair of my old corduroy pants! New life for old pants!

Time management

Oh if I could have at least a couple of extra hours a day!
These is a great post on A beautiful mess about time management.

I love to-do lists! You get SO much more done if you have a list with everything that you need to do. I usually have one to-do list a day and one for the whole week.

I have a new friend

I couple of weeks ago I got my new friend!
A Pfaff ambition 1.0. Its pink and I love it! I've been dreaming of a new sewing machine for a long time. I've only had a cheap brother machine that there is always problems with. A while ago I started my search for a machine and this one caught my eye. It has got a lot of extra fun seams (that I'll probably not use that much), it is pink, has got the pfaff idt system and well it has got a huge sewing space. The big sewing space was really why I bought this one. So far I love it and I'll probably be sewing a lot more now when I have a nice friend that really works.
